Homecoming Candidates 2019
Congratulations to this year's homecoming candidates: Abigail Monse, Chloe Palkie, Hannah Paulbeck, Jenna Cline, Ava DoRan, Sam Sadlowsky, Joe Cummings, Carter Dox, Jon Blanchette and Kade Hopperstad. Homecoming week will be September 30th through October 4th.

Family Matters Program Coming to Aitkin
With a grant from the Aitkin County Child Abuse Prevention Council and partnerships with Aitkin Public Health and Support Within Reach, we will be offering 3 Sessions where we bring in professionals to discuss hot topics affecting todays youth. Additional Information
The first Session is Monday September 23rd at the Aitkin High School Auditorium and Cafeteria. The topic is Mental Health and Suicide Awareness. There will be a FREE DINNER provided by the Grand Casino Mille Lacs at 5:30 followed by a presentation at 6:30. Register Here
AITKIN ANGLERS FISHING TEAM UPDATE

Did You hear the GREAT NEWS? Tyler Bill & Westin Justen won the Fishing Tournament in Bemidji on Sunday. They will be fishing in the National Championship in 2020. Kolbe Sahr & Maggie Borseth took 4th Place.
On September 14th & 15th, we will be fishing a State Tournament on Pokegama Lake in Grand Rapids.

Telephone and Internet Assistance Available to Low Income Consumers
Minnesota's Telephone ASsistance Plan (TAP) and the federal LIFELINE Program help make telephone service affordable to low-income consumers. For qualifying information and available discounts, see the full information here.
All families should have received a mailing from Aitkin Schools this week regarding information the Minnesota Department of Education is requesting that the school collect on student ancestry/ethnicity. We apologize that the "Ethnic and Racial Demographic Designation" forms are not enclosed in the letter as it states. Forms are available in the office at either Rippleside Elementary or Aitkin High School, or by clicking here. You may also call the school at 218-927-2115 if you would like to have a form(s) mailed to you. One form per child (grades PK-12) is needed. Click here to view the letter that was mailed.

For all other grades at the high school, teachers will inform students of supplies needed when the school year begins.
Updated School Transportation Policy Aitkin schools have updated their transportation policy. Please read the following information and fill out the included transportation form if needed. Transportation forms must be completed by August 2nd to guarantee transportation for the upcoming school year.

SPORTS ELIGIBILITY PACKETS
for grades 7-12 will be available beginning August 1st in the high school office. These packets need to be filled out one time each year for students participating in sports and/or fine arts activities. Sports physicals are good for 3 years. Sports fees are $100 for grades 9-12 and $55 for grades 7-8 and can be paid in the office beginning August 1st. Be sure to get your packet and fee in BEFORE the first day of practice!
