Ready, Set, Kindergarten
The Aitkin Children’s Center in partnership with staff from Rippleside will host a Ready, Set, Kindergarten Class during the evenings of February 18th, 25th and March 3rd. Ready, Set, Kindergarten is a class that helps prepare children and parents for the transition from early childhood into kindergarten. Class activities include a parent panel, a tour of Rippleside Elementary, eating in the cafeteria, discussion with kindergarten teachers. Don’t miss out! One Act Takes First at Subsections
At the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Subsection One Act Play Competition on Saturday, January 25th, the Aitkin High School One Act Play “Postcards from Shakespeare” by Allison Williams directed by Kelly Blake, received 1st place with a first place ranking from each of the three judges. Moose Lake Community School received 2nd place. Both teams will perform their plays at the MSHSL Section One Act Play Competition next Saturday, February 1st, at Aitkin High School. Admission: Students - $5.00 Adults - $9.00
The AHS cast/crew will perform “Postcards from Shakespeare“ for the Aitkin community again this week on Friday, January 31st, at 6:30 pm in the AHS Auditorium. Bring your family and friends this coming Friday and Saturday to support the AHS One Act Cast and Crew!!

Telephone and Internet Assistance Available to Low Income Consumers
Minnesota's Telephone ASsistance Plan (TAP) and the federal LIFELINE Program help make telephone service affordable to low-income consumers. For qualifying information and available discounts, see the full information here.
Updated School Transportation Policy Aitkin schools have updated their transportation policy. Please read the following information and fill out the included transportation form if needed. Transportation forms must be completed by August 2nd to guarantee transportation for the upcoming school year.

SPORTS ELIGIBILITY PACKETS
for grades 7-12 are available in the high school office. These packets need to be filled out one time each year for students participating in sports and/or fine arts activities. Sports physicals are good for 3 years. Sports fees are $100 for grades 9-12 and $55 for grades 7-8 and can be paid in the office. Be sure to get your packet and fee in BEFORE the first day of practice!
