Known for their reputation as the producer of the world's safest personal aircraft, Cirrus Aircraft is home to the Cirrus SR-20, SR-22, and Vision personal jet. Students who attended the trip were given the opportunity to get up close and personal with the workers as they toured the Cirrus Aircraft production facilities and machining and welding workshops. There, students learned about all the processes used to assemble an Aircraft from their stock materials into fully functioning multi-million dollar aircraft tailored to their buyer's desires. These processes included Welding, CNC machining, automotive bodywork and paint application, composite fabrication, electronics, engineering, structural testing, flight testing and more. Seniors on the trip were offered a chance to apply for a career with the company once they graduated and were told that "We have 400 positions open currently. You don't need to know a thing about planes to work here. We will pay for your training. All you have to bring is an interest and a desire to join our team."
