School Board Special ElectionNOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board member of Independent School District No. 0001 shall begin on January 31, 2023, and shall close at 5:00 o’clock p.m. on February 14, 2023.
The special election shall be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. At that election, two members will be elected to the School Board to fill vacancies in term expiring January 1, 2025. For any other questions, feel free to email Jeri Forbord at jforbord@isd1.org Tutoring Available at the High SchoolStudents Exploring Career Options![]() On Friday student's from Mr. Krueger's transitional skills class had the opportunity to explore careers in cosmetology thanks to Holly Mindrum, School Board member and Owner of POSH hair salon in Aitkin. Holly took the time to educate students about the different academic methods available for obtaining a cosmetology license in Minnesota and the many career paths the license offers. Students learned about skin care techniques, disease management, nail care, hair treatments, and then got to experiment with methods in hair removal using sugar.
