Family Fun Night's Poetry Slam
Yearbook Staff Gearing up for 18-19
The editors of the 2019 A-Book, attended a yearbook retreat sponsored by Josten's at Bemidji High School. The group came back charged and ready to go with the preparations for the yearbook which will be produced next school year. The 2018 version of the yearbook will be delivered before Graduation. A few extra copies remain, please see Mrs. Larson at the High School to reserve your copy.
Fontaine Places 4th at State Speech
Jake Fontaine and Bryanna Baugh participated in the state speech tournament held at Apple Valley High School on April 21st. Both did well in their respective categories, with Jake advancing to the final round to compete against other Informative Speakers from around the state. He brought home a 4th place medal, which was a memorable way to end Aitkin High School's participation in the speech program.
Aitkin 8th Graders Raise Record Amount for St. Jude Hospital
Through a math-a-thon fundraiser. Aitkins’ 8th grade class raised $5,500 dollars to donate to St. Jude.

FFA Members Recognized in Staples
The Region #2 FFA Awards recognition program and Talent contest was held on April 9th at the Timbers Banquet hall at Staples. AHS FFA members that were recognized for their accomplishments included all members that have qualified for state competition at the State FFA Convention April 22-24 at the UM-St Paul campus as well as at the Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis.
