Announcement Regarding Makeup Day
Dear Parents and Students-
The decision to close school on Monday, March 5, was difficult and has an effect on the school calendar. Upon my arrival to Aitkin, I have been promoting instructional time as vital to success in student learning. At the board level, in cooperation with our staff, we agreed to make up missed instructional time within the school calendar year. We decided that days missed prior to the February holiday day weekend would be made up on February 16th and 19th. We had decided that any day missed after that holiday weekend would first be made up on April 27th. School will be in session for students on April 27, 2018. Going forward, the snow day make-up dates will be published with the approval of future calendars so families can make appropriate plans should we have school closures.
